There are several species of ants, and many of these ants are red. The most common type of red ant, the red imported fire ant, at the very least is a nuisance. For some, the sting of the fire ant can cause an allergic reaction, and these victims may experience nausea and headaches. Make your lawn a safe, fun place by getting rid of these pesky little invaders. Pour a few oz. of liquid dish soap into a spray bottle 3/4 full of cool water. Shake the bottle to evenly distribute the soap and create bubbles. Spray the mixture directly onto the ants and the trail they have left if the ants are entering your home. Place 2 to 3 gallons of water into a large pot and bring it to a boil on the stove. Carry the pot out to the ant’s mound slowly and carefully. Dump the extremely hot water onto and inside the hill.
