How do I keep Japanese Beetles from eating up my fern baskets?
Try trapping them. Traps can be purchased in the gardening depts of home and garden centers. This is very effective and I do it myself. It is easy. Follow the product instructions for trap placement. Another option is to buy special insect spray for plants and spray the ones you don’t want them to eat. Since Japanese beetles were grubs before they morphed into beetles, the ultimate solution (for next season and the ones after that) is to control the grubs in your yard. It may be too late to do this for the current season but keep it in mind for next year. One such product is called “Grub-X”. Or ask where you buy gardening supplies.
