How do I keep bridesmaid jewelry a surprise gift?
You could just tell them that you don’t want jewelry. But, I wouldn’t worry about it all that much. It’s really not a big deal if they find out that you’re planning to give them jewelry. One of the other bridesmaids told me, “She’s giving us jewelry, so we don’t have to worry about it…” I hadn’t really been worried since it is the usual bridesmaid gift and I’d kind of expected it. It wasn’t a big deal that we found out because it prevented us from buying anything extra and it was still a surprise because we didn’t know what it looked like. Plus, the bride put them in boxes for us. A nice thing to do if they’re already expecting it is to put it in nice jewelry boxes — particularly if they are in some way different for each bridesmaid…matching jewelry that they might never wear again isn’t all that fantastic of a gift anyway.
