How do I keep aluminum from getting that black coating when Mig welding?

A. That black coating is oxidation that is an indication that you are not getting enough gas coverage on the weld. Make sure that you have the gun pointed in the direction you are welding in; that way you are following your gas shield and therefore always welding into your gas coverage. If you go the other way, your gas coverage will be going in the opposite direction that you are welding.
