They’re not recruiting at the moment. The MOD Police are mainly responsible for the protection of MOD property. For example Royal Navy harbours, barracks and RAF airbases. There are specialists departments in the MOD Police; Marine Unit, Operational Support Unit (OSU), Special Escort Group (SEG) and lots more. The MOD Police also help out other forces doing “normal” police work e.g. Anti Terrorism searches, responding to fights etc. The SEG are responsible for escorting vehicles carrying nuclear weapons, VIPs and other high value Military hardware. Every MOD Police officer undergoes firearms training as MOD Police officers are required to carry firearms.
