How do I issue a downpayment, 50% for example, on a purchase order ?

• A: There are two ways to provide vendors with downpayments upon issuing a purchase order. The first method includes a purchase of a single item wherby the line item is entered at 50% of its net value and a second line is created with item text reading “50% downpayment” and has an equal value. Another method of issuing a downpayment is to enter the purchase order as usual and create the payment by completing a Goods Receipt for a quantity of 0.5 instead of a quantity of 1. In both instances a cheque is issued only completion of the Invoice Receipt.
