How do I interpret InstaRefs ruling?
It’s actually not as complicated as it might first appear. Whenever there’s a foul or an illegal touching violation, teams have options. Start at option #1. If the specified team elects that option, that’s the ruling. Otherwise, consult option #2, and so on. In the special case of illegal touching in the end zone, Team B can have further options even after accepting the illegal touching privilege. These are labeled, for example, #1-1, #1-2, and so on. If Team B declines the illegal touching privilege, skip all of those. • I disagree with InstaRef’s ruling. InstaRef could very well be wrong. I’ve put the program through a lot of tests, but I’m sure there are things I’ve missed. If you email me the entire URL from your browser’s address bar, with a brief note explaining what you think the problem is, I’ll be happy to fix the bug. It could also be that InstaRef has a different understanding of the particular way you’ve entered the play.
