First, either personalize or familiarize yourself with the selections and the categories in the Medical Progress Notes, Lab Order and Prescription windows. Know how to maneuver around the program. This will allow you to spend more time focusing on the patient. Second, familiarize yourself with the operation of windows in general so you can quickly adapt to the use of a computer in your office. • Make sure your computer is set up with printer access to produce paper archives, or a phone line for faxing prescriptions. • Copy and paste, or export your note to your hospital or office LAN computer system without losing formatting.
