This topic describes how to install UpToDate software on a desktop computer or PDA device and also describes how to activate the software (activation is not necessary for PDA installations). Activation will associate the UpToDate software with the computer on which it is installed, so you should be sure to install UpToDate on the computer on which you are most likely to use the software. Note that you can always access UpToDate online from any computer with Internet access. Note: For installation and activation on institutional computers, administrator privileges must be available. To perform both a desktop and a PDA installation, remove and reinsert the UpToDate DVD after the first installation has completed, then choose the other installation type.
