It is recommended to use a kit with seamless aluminum flashing. See page 10 and 11 of the installation instructions for details on how to install on a tile roof. Wood shake and slate roofs follow the same instructions but do not require mortar. Make sure to liberally apply roofing sealing under the flashing and on top of the mounting screws.
