How Do I Install Electric Guitar Strings?

Thicker strings will be harder to bend, so you can try using thinner strings such as Ernie Ball Super Slinky’s. Apart from using thinner strings there’s no way of making them looser. You could buy a guitar with a trem bar, this means that when you bend the strings the bridge springs will also bend, making it a little easier. Alternatively you can tune your guitar down a half-step to Eb standard which will also make the strings easier to bend. Obviously this might make it difficult to play along to your favourite songs though. There is a pedal called the Morpheus DropTune which will alter you guitar signal in half step increments. So you could tune your guitar a step down but then use the pedal to change the signal to standard tuning. A bit of a hassle though! The best thing to do is just to keep practicing. Over time you develop harder skin on your fingertips and build finger strength, making the strings easier to bend. Good luck.
