How do I insert special characters into a text string?

To see all the characters available in a font, set your text preferences to WYSIWYG. Do this by selecting Preferences from the Workspace menu. The box shown below will appear. Select the Text option from the Category listing. Then change the Text Editor Style to WYSIWYG. This change will take effect the next time you issue a text command. Workspace preferences are user specific so they will be the same in any project you work on. When you place text a menu (shown below) showing all the available characters will be displayed. You can select special characters by hitting on an item on the menu.
