How do I increase my stamina and control my breathe during a basketball match?
If it is a basketball “match” you should be on the way considering that other sports that have “matches” such as tennis and soccer are both good ways to develop stamina. Basketball is a “game” any way you bounce it. You play a pick up game, run to the “Y” for a game with the guys, you do or you don’t got “game” . . . But anyway, the best way is to actually play for me. If I have not played in a while, I notice that I am exhausted after a few minutes and have to sub out, but then after a few games to get back in the flow my body seems to adjust and while I still get some minor fatigue at times – it never reaches the point where I feel like I am just on empty. I have tried running sprints, doing 3 mile runs, and even swimming (cannot swim worth a crap), but none of them seem to help me get into game shape like actually playing does. By the way, this is strange in a way but I have learned to breath slower and take air in through my nose about any time we slow down and it really seems to h
