First off, I don’t know of any Autozone’s or automotive repair facilities that are going to give you any advice on motorcycle brakes. Secondly, if you have no experience with brakes, you shouldn’t be working on them. I don’t mean this as a “slam”, brakes are mucho importante and if you don’t do them right you could get hurt or worse. You don’t mention the year of your bike, but up until 2007 (I think it was) they did use a rear drum brake (internal). Although they aren’t hard to work on, it’s still very possible to make serious mistakes with the repair. Your best bet is to take it to a shop or if you know someone that has done this type of repair before, get them to help you so you know how to do it properly the next time. If you really want to do it yourself, invest in a model specific service manual.
