How Do I I Prevent Certain Programs From Running At Start Up On Vista?
Startup programs in Vista are held in one of three places. The first option would be for you to: 1. Select Start, then enter cmd.exe into the “Start Search” box, found at the bottom of the Start Menu. 2. Click on cmd when it shows up [it will have a small black box next to the program name],. 3. Type in “msconfig” (without quotes). 4. When prompted to give Administrator Access, select “Continue”. 5. Choose the Startup tab, found along the top. 6. Uncheck the boxes next to the programs you do not want to start a startup. 7. Click OK. Another option, which may be quicker and more fruitful, is: 1.Open the Start menu once again, and type “Startup” into the search box. 2. It will return no results, but, if you click “See All Results”, you will get the options you need. 3. Two folders named “Startup” will be on the list. 4. Go into the folders, and delete the links to the programs you don’t want to start at startup. Note: The first option requires restart to take effect, but the second one w
