How Do I I Go About Becoming A Dual Citizen?

I went through a similar situation. You must apply at the embassy in London for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, which is evidence of your United States citizenship. Because only one parent is a US citizen, she must fulfill the physical presence requirement: namely, she must have been inside the US for at least 5 years sometime prior to your birth (2 of which were after she turned 14). You need an appointment with the US embassy in London (book early because sometimes they can’t get you in for a few months). You will need your ID, your parent’s ID, proof of your mum’s US citizenship and proof of her physical presence (old passports, school reports etc). You will also need various forms (application for CRBA, application for passport, application for social security card, affidavit of physical presence). All the information is here: http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/acs… and here:

What is your question?
