Make sure the Audio mixer panel buttons are “in” (no white shadow on the top of the switches) and make sure the “IDT” buttons on the radios are selected in. Submitted for the FAQ by Scott Brazell The Morse code identifier is used with VORs, NDBs, and DMEs. There is no identifier for airports. You must first tune in the frequency of the navaid in question and make sure it is switched to the left window (active freq.) on the radio. Next, make sure that you have the appropriate button depressed on your audio panel. Lastly, make sure you depress the IDT button on the appropriate NAV radio. For DME identification, make sure you depress the DME button on the audio panel, and if I remember this part correctly, when you are listening to the Morse code for a particular VOR, every second or third repeat of the code should be higher pitched for those VORs with DME.
