I agree with SOC. I moved 17 times before I turned 16 and changed schools so many times! One of the times I moved, I had a boyfriend for 2 years, my best friend – who is still my best friend after 20 years and is still my best friend even though she lives in another country from me! What I learnt about the moving and how it affected me is that I am able to pick people to be close friends of mine very quickly. I know how to be more outgoing and I am self confident. I see opportunity in starting at new places – who doesn’t need to be cared about by more people? I still keep my very best of friends close and I am still in touch with the friends I have had since beginning school – they know the most about me. It is difficult when you live with your parents and you like someone at the same time and the mature thing to do is keep those contacts (you’ll find out who really is your friend too!) and nurture them even from a distance. I’m 30 now and wasted 11 years on a boy I liked. I left him 3
