How do i handle a summons from a car accident?
A summons is a formal document, and if you don’t attend you can possibly be found guilty just by not showing up. (As a default) And really, it depends on if it was your fault. An accident is exaclty that, and ACCIDENT, NEVER claim ANY responsibility, becuse it’s an Accident, it’s not called an “On Purpose”…
Surely you have Ins. on you auto don’t you, take it to them because they are the responsible party unless you were in commission of some crime at the time of the accident. Ins. companies defend against claims they feel unjust and if this summons is brought unjustly they will defend against it. That is one good reason for having insurance. If you had no insurance then get a Lawyer + money and go to court.
