How do I grease the bouncer at Las Vegas nightclubs to get to the front of the line?
You don’t “grease the bouncer” – they’ll laugh at you and take your money. As someone else said, sit at the table and play a little blackjack and suck up to the pit boss, or go ask the concierge to see if they can get you on the list for a couple of places (I recommend no more than two places a night, and one is really preferable) and tip the concierge the $50 or a $100 – or more – depending on how many lists they can get you on.
Use your hotel concierege immediately when you check in. At this point they know nothing about you other than what they can see. They don’t know if you’re gambling $1000 a night or $100 a night. Dress nice for your travel out there so that you look like you can afford these clubs and will be able to tip the concierge handsomely when they help you. So, check in and go see the concierge. Get something set up for that night or the next night. If the concierge takes care of things for you I’d give them $50 or $100. Remember, Vegas is all about $100’s…Carry $100’s in your pocket, not a bunch of $50’s and $20’s. Put the 100’s on the outside of your roll, so when you pull one out the dealers, concierge, etc….assume you’ve got a bunch of them. After the first night, go see the concierge again…thank them and tell them what a great time you had and ask if they can arrange another night. Tip again.
LOL $50 dollars isn’t going to help you get into any club in Vegas – especially if you are with a bunch of guys! Sorry – try $100 each (maybe). Tipping the hotel staff or casino dealers won’t help you either because you aren’t a high-roller and the club and casino are seperate entities. Your best bet to get in is to either offer at least $100 each (which may get you in – there is only one guy who determines who gets in) or try to get on the guest list for a particular club. You will still have to stand in a line and pay the cover, but it isn’t as long as the *main* line.
