How do I go about job-hunting in places like McDonalds, Gamestop, K-Mart etc?
The job search is fierce right now! Here are some tips from when I am looking: Dress nice, but no need to overdo it. Don’t dress sexy or too casual. Then, go in and ask politely if a manager is available. Introduce yourself, then ask the manager if they are hiring. If the manager is not available, you can either ask what is a good time to come back or just ask the associate for a application (most people that work there will know where the applications are).Make sure you plan when you go- don’t go into McDonalds during lunch hour or to K-Mart on a busy Saturday afternoon. Go during slower hours so the manager, if you get to talk to them, will be able to actually talk to you. But, I definelty think it will be better for you to go right in. Most of the time those big corporations like Kmart and MickieDees have the resumes emailed to the corporate office, and then it takes forever for it to get to the actual store, and they will filter through.
