Because of this, most laptop touchpads include a way to scroll quickly through a document without needing to use the keyboard. If the scrolling feature of your laptop’s touchpad fails to work properly, use a systematic method to find the source of the problem and resolve it. Step 1 Confirm that you are using the touchpad properly if it has never worked. With some touchpads, scrolling is accomplished by sweeping a finger vertically across the right side of the touchpad.
