How Do I Get the Screen Out of a Tecumseh Carburetor?
If your small appliance motor is spitting and sputtering, the small mesh screen inside the carburetor is possibly clogged. The components of Tecumseh and Briggs & Stratton carburetors are virtually the same, both having the screen in place to filter out impurities before they hit the engine. Getting the screen out of the Tecumseh carburetor is not overly difficult, but it takes a bit of disassembly to access it. You will also need to be careful, as unless removed properly, the screen will need to be completely replaced rather than simply cleaned.
