Nine network stopped doing teletext when the GO SD channel started up. All they have now is TAB results. Seven network dropped teletext completely ages ago. All digital channels provide closed captions for the hearing impaired on certain programs. Programs with closed captions are marked as such in the TV guide. Just an example of programs with closed captions based on the TV guide Australian News all digital channels, 2.5 Men, NCIS, Gangs of Oz, Catalyst, Heroes, etc If your DVD/VCR can do teletext and closed captions it will have the button(s) on the remote control. Sometimes the closed caption button can be labeled as subtitles. This button will be separate from the subtitles button for DVD. If your DVD/VCR does not have these buttons then you can buy a set top box. The cheapest SD set top box’s sell for $40 and HD set top box’s sell for $80. The buttons are on the remote control. You just press the button for the closed captions to appear on the screen for the programs that have it
