How do I get started in comedy / writing / filmmaking?
There are as many routes as there are people. I went to film school and lucked into meeting a group of like minded people. We did live shows anywhere we could, made short films, then got involved in a TV show (“You Wrote It You Watch It”) at MTV, at a time when they were small enough to really take chances with untested talent. My general advice is 1) Live in NYC or LA; 2) Write, produce, shoot, perform as much as you can — quantity is as important as quality; 3) Stay true to your voice.
