Click the notification task bar on your Windows Live Messenger window. Click “Exit” to close the program. Open your computer’s Control Panel menu after you have closed any Windows Live Messenger windows. Highlight Windows Live in the list of removable programs on your computer. Click “Uninstall.” Click “Yes” to verify that you do want to remove Windows Live Messenger from your computer.
