you need to find the source, where the larva are, they do the damage. If you have found the adults in a well lit room or a window they could of flown in from almost any room. The larva as they grow will move off from the food source and find a dark area such as a corner or maybe around the baseboard to molt then return to the food source to feed some more, they will molt several times before becoming an adult. For a closet, it will need to be emptied and the baseboards and corners need to treated with a residual. The clothing that they attack will need to be cleaned…what ever the lowest heat setting on the dryer that is safe for a particular piece of clothing will be enough to dislodge the larva. If the clothing is going to be stored, after cleaning, it needs to be placed into something air tight..basically tupperware for clothing.
