You don’t need to get rid of this link to run Linux. If you do the MechAssault trick, then ‘Install Linux’ will replace ‘XBox Live’ with ‘Linux’ on its own. If you do the “Hardware Modification” with a modchip that selects between Microsoft’s BIOS and Cromwell, then you could care less that XBox Linux is an option on the Dashboard.
