How do I get Rid of Snakes?
Many homeowners, whether they live in the suburbs or in rural areas, find themselves wondering how to get rid of snakes around their homes. I live in the country and know which snakes I have that are poisonous…..rattle snakes and coral snakes……very few water mocassins (but I can recognize all bad ones)….I get a hoe and kill them. The others are free to come and go….no harm to anyone..There aren’t that many dangerous snakes, so don’t panic if you don’t need to. My house is on pier and beam and no plants are allowed to grow within 3 feet of the foundation so snakes can hide. I just naturalize flowering plants under the trees, etc. Line the post fences with simplicity roses, esperanaza, etc. Any flowers I want to grow I cultivate in rows like a vegetable garden away from my house where kids play. Good luck……I love the wildlife that comes around…wild turkeys, baby jack rabbits living under the house…it’s nature at its best…..I can certainly take care of the bad snakes so I can enjoy the rest of God’s creatures around here.
