How do I get pastel out of a carpet?

Well, pastels are oil based so it is going to be tough to do. If your carpet is light colored (like beige) it will be next to impossible. A few things you can try: turpenoid (a synthetic turpentine that can lift the oil out – warning it’s a little stinky but they may have odorless now) artists brush soap (you can find it at an art store or michaels) or if those don’t work maybe a grease cutting dish liquid will do it. I have gotten pastel out of a bedspread with brush soap and it made it much better – didn’t get it all the way out though. hope one of those things helps!
