How Do I Get Paraffin Wax Out of the Carpet?
Paraffin wax is found in many homes as it has numerous uses. Paraffin is used as fuel, a laxative, an ingredient to make crayons, candle wax and for cooking among other things. Some people use it in candy-making because of the shiny coating. Because paraffin wax hardens as it dries, spills on carpets may seem disastrous. Fortunately, paraffin wax can be removed quite easily with the proper materials and the right removal method. Use your fingernail or a butter knife to scrape as much of the wax out of the carpet as possible. Place two or three ice cubes on top of the paraffin wax in order to freeze it. This should make it easier to remove more of the wax with your fingernail or butter knife. Set a clothing iron on low heat. Cover the paraffin wax with a brown paper bag. Rub the iron over the paper bag as though you’re ironing a shirt. Remove the paper bag from the carpet after the paraffin wax has transferred to it. If there is still wax left on the carpet, use a second brown paper bag
