Drivers license: You can visit any branch of the the Texas Department of Public Safety to have your out-of-state license transferred to Texas. The State issues Class C licenses for most everyone as this license encompasses simple passenger vehicles and trucks. Class B and A refer to commercial drivers licenses. You will also be required to submit a thumbprint when you are at the DPS office. In order to drive a motorcycle, you must pass a State approved motorcycle instruction course and upon passing it, you will receive a new license with an “M” in your class code.
