How do i get my dog to walk without a leash?
Most areas have leash laws in effect, so it wouldn’t be legal for you to walk your dog without a leash. Unless you mean to do backcountry hiking – but it sounds like you’re talking urban walks. While the training would be great for the dog and for you – don’t plan on walking without a leash. Some breeds (hounds, for example) are easily lead by instinct – alluring sight or smell could cause them to run off, much faster than you’d ever be able to catch them. Look into some training / obedience classes with your local Parks & Rec or Pet Store – but keep your pooch on a leash.
