How do I get hardcover copies of books by authors(Stanford,McCammon, James Burke)?
The reason Amazon only offers paperback copies of some books that were issued in hardcover is that the hardcover edition is out of print. You will have to get a used copy if you want a hardback. There are several good book searching services on the net, in which many out-of-print book dealers list books. These include: abebooks.com, alibris.com, biblio.com, and many more. Amazon itself offers many used books through dealers which contract with Amazon. Most of the main ones are indexed through two mega-search engines, addall.com and bookfinder.com. Don’t be put off by the term “used.” Many “used” books are in as-new condition. There is not room here to deal with all of these search engines individually, but I’ll try a random title to give you an idea.
