But as I am probably much older than either of you (think “before the earth formed a crust”) I can tell you from my experience of many years and many relationships, “this, too, shall pass.” You can make it a lesson from which you can both teach and learn. If you are fortunate, someday, perhaps,you will be in a position to help someone else in this situation. More immediately, perhaps, what might help is to embrace and be thankful for the love that was shared, concentrate on the positives in the relationship and ignore or forgive the negatives. After that, again from my experience of more years than I want to count (or even acknowledge) I have learned that one should strive to be the person you want to attract, and that the more happy, appreciative, independent, successful, witty, charitable, kind, (fill in your own adjectives here) you are, the more attractive you will be to that kind of person.
