How do i get grass to grow?
First of all how big is your garden? Do you want it all in grass? Is there an area of it that has grass at the moment? Grass is not always the best answer in areas where the soil is poor. It may be better to sit down and make a plan of your garden and have so much of it in gravel and so much in grass. You could make the graveled area really attractive by making a rock garden as a feature, or putting a garden fountain in it. Adding a few tubs can also help. If there is an area that has grass already, you could also concentrate on improving that. That way it would compliment the graveled area and vice versa. To get grass seed to grow in the area that is already dug, get enough good topsoil to cover the area, rake it over so the top is smooth and fine (no lumps of soil) and scatter the seed over it evenly. Rake it in lightly and water it in. It will depend on the type of grass seed you use as to how long it will take to germinate, so keep the area lightly watered until it does.
