Basically head back to San Jose, but just north of Jaco Beach (about 10 miles north), stay left on the road heading towards Puntarenas about another 10 miles. Just before you get to the town of Puntarenas, turn right and follow the directions along the Pan American Highway north towards Canas and Liberia. Continuing on the Pan American Highway just before Canas watch for the sign to Tempisque (ferry) or Nicoya to the left, at a huge Shell gas station. This road will take you over the new Taiwanese bridge to Nicoya (the ferry is no longer in service). The directions on this web site Directions from San Jose will be the same once you get north of Puntarenas.
