Within Excel, there are 2 ways to get an .XLA like Distributed Spreadsheet to load. The first method is to locate the .XLA file in the \XLSTART directory user the \Microsoft Office directory. This is the method used by Distributed Spreadsheet as it insures that each time Excel is launched, Distributed Spreadsheet is launched. The second method involves using Excels Tools / Add-ins / Browse option to locate any .XLA file you want to optionally load during the launching of Excel. To invoke this method of launching Distributed Spreadsheet, move the DSLINK.XLA from the \XLSTART directory to the \Microsoft Office directory. Using the Tools \ Add-ins \ Browse option, locate DSLINK.XLA and click on it. It will load into the current and future instances of Excel and be available immediately. This selection process will also add Distributed Spreadsheet to the list of registered Add-ins under the name dslink, allowing it to be turned off and on as desired.
