How do I get dark stain/varnish off of wood?
Hi! I posted a similar question some time ago because I needed to get stain/varnish of a whole staircase that a “professional” had stained far too dark. It had been stained almost black and it should have been light maple. After 3 days of using cellulose stripper (be careful if you use it) and rubbing hard with wire wool and sand paper we finally got it down to a reasonable base colour and could start again. Lots of elbow grease needed. Best of luck!
