How do I get converter box to work on my old tv with cable?

The converter box is not meant to go with cable. It is for the replacement of an antenna (aka rabbit ears). You need to call your cable company and they will bring out a new box for free. Odds are they will tell you your previous cable package no longer exist and you will need to switch to a new package. Don’t worry though I am saving $25.
