How do i get around websense??
Security is there for a reason, probably put in place with people like you in mind. I’m not saying that’s a good or bad thing, just stating the obvious from the administration’s point of view. Websense is a proxy server, meaning that your internet browsers are pointing toward it and letting it do all the browsing work for you, and it comes back to your browser with what it found, or if you tried browsing to a site on the restricted list it will give you a message telling you so. If you have the ability, you could change your browser settings so you don’t use a proxy server, although the firewall is probably configured so that only the proxy server can leave the site using HTTP port 80. So . . . You’re probably screwed, which as a system administrator is just how I would want it.
