How do I get accepted into Nursing, EMS, Dental Hygiene, or Physical Therapist Assistant school?
First, a student should take all the prerequisites under the program they have selected. These classes are the minimum required to be able to apply to one of these programs and are listed in the catalog under the different programs. Second, the student should focus on taking all the other courses required that are not coded to that program. (For example, take the BIOL course required in Nursing, but not the RNSG course) Third, the student should submit their scores from the appropriate entrance exam in the program (i.e. SAT, ACT, or HOBET). It is advisable that the student read all the information contained in the NTCC catalog pertaining to the program they have chosen. Lastly, the student should see the secretary of the program for an application or to sign up for orientation. Since some of these programs are highly competitive, it is advisable that the student attempt to gain any medical experience possible to enhance the students application.
