Well I don’t know your skill level, but I wrestled in California and I was ranked 10th in the state last year as a senior. I got a few offers from brown, Utah, USF, Westpoint, kings point, etc… If your performance level is pretty high and you are ranked highly among other wrestlers in Texas you could have a chance. Also it wouldn’t hurt to go out and participate in national tournaments: one it will make you better, two it if you decent it will allow you to become recognized. It wouldn’t hurt to talk to some of the coaches either. It would be very beneficial to try and do some wrestling at different colleges in the off season as well that way you will get to know the coaches and the program. If you perform well the coaches will be more highly inclined to look into giving you some money.
