While students love the introduction of “computer time” in the classroom, it is important to make sure that you, as a teacher, are integrating technology into the classroom in the most effective way. Consider your students’ interests, your classroom goals, and the necessary background that students will need before introducing computers into your classroom.Gauge Your Students’ Abilities and InterestsBefore you can formulate a plan for integrating technology into your classroom, gauge your students’ ability levels and interests. For example, some of your students may have plenty of experience with computers–even to the point of software programming or hardware construction–while others may have very little experience.
