Prepare to Format the USB DriveInsert the USB Flash Drive into a USB port on the computer. Go to “My Computer” and take note of the letter the USB Flash Drive is assigned. It is typically “F” or “G” but could be a different letter depending on how many drives are hooked up to the computer.Format the Drive to FAT32Go to “Start” then “Programs” then “Accessories.” Select “Command Prompt.” The Command Prompt dialogue box will open. Type in the following without the quotation marks: “format G:/FS:FAT32”, substituting the correct letter of the USB Flash Drive for the “G” in the example above.
