Laptop screens are typically liquid crystal display (LCD) screens that are firmly encased in a plastic monitor frame. An unfortunate spill can cause liquid to seep in through the seams of the monitor frame and accumulate underneath the screen. To clean small amounts of water in your laptop screen, you can try setting your laptop open and upside down to let the water naturally fall out and evaporate. For major water spills and other liquids, you will have to carefully take apart the display. Step 1 Unplug your laptop and remove the battery. Step 2 Unscrew any screws around the frame. Not all laptop frames are screwed on, some simply snap in. Step 3 Use your small nylon pry tool to remove the monitor frame.
