How do I Fix my Slice?
Is there anything more infuriating than hitting the big banana off the tee? I don’t think so. It knocks huge distance off your drive. It also rarely puts you in the fairway. There just isn’t anything good about the slice, except that most golfers at one time or another have struggled with it. It is the most common swing fault in golf. So what’s good about that? It means you are not alone. Let’s discuss a few tips that will help you straighten out those shots. THE GRIP First things first….check your grip. A weak grip could be the culprit. What do I mean about a weak grip you say? Grab a club and make your normal grip. Locate the V’s created by your thumb and index fingers and see where they are pointing. If the V’s are pointing to your chin or to the left shoulder, you have a weak grip. Adjust your hands so the V’s are pointing to your right shoulder. Believe it or not, this small change could be all you need. THE STANCE The next time you are out, make it a point to check your stance.
