First I would try it on another computer to determine whether the issue is with the mouse or the computer. It is my computer – if the mouse worked on another computer. I would look into updating the drivers for the mouse. Drivers can be found on the manufacturers website. It is my mouse – the mouse does not work on another computer. This probably means it is a hardware issue and time to get a new mouse.

Unplug it. Turn your computer off. Restart the computer. Plug the mouse back in. Your computer should recognize the new hardware. If it doesn’t work, perhaps it’s time for a new mouse.
