How do I fix Dell video card/monitor problem?
I’m having problems with my Dimension E521 computer. The monitor works fine when connected to the Integrated Video Card Controller, however, I cannot play video games on the computer when this port is in use because the game lags so much that it is unplayable. When I connect the monitor to the other socket, the Add-In Video Card slot, I get a black screen and an amber “power on” button. The screen displays the message “in power save mode: press any key to continue”. Pressing the key does nothing, so I am forced to resort to the other monitor input in order to use the computer, even though I cannot play the games using this slot. I’ve checked the BIOS and I’m pretty sure everything is ok in setup. This is very frustrating and I would be grateful for any help.
