How do i fix a broken cable on a garage door?
If this is a single spring door, call a garage door company. Those are much too dangerous to handle without proper tools.If this has the old fashioned double springs on the sides, then do this.Raise the door all the way, as this releases the spring tension. Then simply replace the cable. Hardware stores and big box stores sell these parts. WORD OF CAUTION. Be sure you secure the door after you raise it up, since there will only be one spring holding it up. Tie it with rope to the track.
